De Beers Venture Restarts Mine on Better Gem Demand
Sept. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Debswana Diamond Co., the juncture venture between De Beers and Botswana’s government, restarted its Orapa No. 2 mine earlier than some time ago planned as demand for the gems increased.
The mine, which the company said in February would traces shut until the end of the year, resumed operations on July 27 and is working at 80 percent of brains, Debswana spokeswoman Esther Kanaimba said in a phone to from Botswana’s capital Gaborone today.
